LOCAL IMPACT

Loving Our Community Through Service & Partnerships

At Bright City, we strive to make a positive impact in our community through service projects and ministry partnerships.

We are committed to offering ourselves as sacrificial servants. Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve and give his life to others (Mark 10:45). We joyfully offer our time, abilities, and resources back to him. We will make necessary sacrifices for the good of others and to meet needs in our community.

We also know we cannot do everything on our own. We find ways to work together with others in our community to make a greater impact. We don’t have to get credit if more people are helped and loved like Jesus. Below you will find our ongoing ministry partnerships.

Loving Our City

We have several ways we regularly serve our Big Walnut community.

We often partner with the Chamber of Commerce and Civic Association for events like the Fourth of July and Sizzle & Sounds festival. We also regularly find and organize restoration projects in our area like painting, mulching, and cleaning up parks.

Bright City is dedicated to giving time and resources to make our community a place the flourishes. Please share needs and ideas for our community with our team so we can help!

Partnership: Young Life

YoungLife’s mission is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. At Bright city, we dedicate major resources to raising up the next generation of passionate Jesus-followers. YoungLife is a local ministry that is impacting students to become all that God has called them to be—and we are so thankful to partner with them in a shared mission!

If you are a local high school or middle school student, here are ways you can get involved:

For high schoolers (9th to 12th grade)

  • Campaigners on Wednesdays at 8:00pm

  • Club on Mondays at 8:00pm

For middle schoolers (6th to 8th grade)

  • WyldLife every other Friday evening

YoungLife also offers camps and weekends away throughout the year. To stay in the loop with what’s happening with our area YoungLife, follow them on Instagram or connect with Casey VanCauwebergh at caseyvanc@gmail.com

Partnership: Out of Darkness

Out of Darkness provides holistic, individualized, and trauma-informed care to adult victims of commercial sexual exploitation through outreach, 24-hour hotline services, safe home services, and long-term program placement.

We serve Out of Darkness by helping with their Drop-In Center in south-side Columbus. Village Coffee, our favorite local coffee shop, also donates proceeds from every cup of coffee to fight the injustice of human trafficking.
